I am looking for dry food like almonds, raisins, hazelnuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds but is difficult to find in Penang. They are usually sold at Tesco, Sunshine and other supermarkets, but the price is kinda expensive. For almond 1kg - selling at RM 49.
We were recommended to this shop by my Auntie. We were so happy to find this sundry shop that sells everything, especially the almond we wanted. We bought the almond for 1kg- RM 38.

Nowadays, huge retail shop like Tesco and Giant are growing everywhere especially in urban areas. Since then, the sundry shop roles become less important.

The sundry shop such as groceries shop still has a role to play especially when the community needs to buy goods urgently and do not have much time to go to hypermarkets at the big towns. Prices are cheaper here too.

Mostly, almost everything that are available at the groceries shop is from local product. Therefore, the community does not have other choices but to choose from the local product. If you need something like almonds, raisins,  hazelnuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds you will know where to go.
