Penang will have its own inflatable bird just like the giant yellow rubber duck which captivated thousands of people in Hong Kong, Sydney and other cities.
The hornbill mascot weighing 250kg was unveiled in the waters off the IJM promenade in Sungai Pinang, it costs about RM60,000, was sponsored by a group of people. The inflatable bird is made of high quality PVC. 25 Feet height, 35 Feet wide, weighing about 250 kg, thickness is 0.35mm as well as the buoy is 0.7 mm.
It will be bobbing around IJM Promenade until 31Aug 2013 before making its way to other parts of Malaysia.
